As all know, breakdowns and failures are and will be force majeure events which cannot be foreseen. The basic task of the business continuity management is to avoid breakdowns and failures in the disaster recovery. It would be sufficient to only outline several scenarios for the partial or full recovery of operations, with the unambiguous determination of the maximum time for the restoring of the system for operations.

 Another way to deal with loss minimisation, which the company may incur due to a breakdown or a disaster, is the outlining of scenarios of how to reduce to a minimum the impact of the breakdown by alternative scenarios of implementation of business processes. Undoubtedly, it is not easy to do. But one should always remember that the awareness of the level of risk and the pre-defined mechanisms to manage these risks may be a value in its own right.
