Preparing a company for implementation process
Environmental Management System assesses the organisations impact on the environment caused by manufacturing, services or certain products. At the stage of preparation for the implementation process there are several issues which need to be addressed. Among them: degree to which the organisation currently complies with the ISO14001 requirements compliance with environmental legislation; preparation for the implementation of the system; re-organisation process for the best effectiveness of the system, if needed.
Initial Audit
Review covers the analysis of main impacts of the organisation on environment together with the assessment of compliance with current and forthcoming changes in the environmental legislation.
Gap Analysis
Detailed analysis describing how existing system meets requirements of ISO 14001 standard. This is a very useful tool to meet A 3.1 specification of ISO 14001. Gap analysis gives a very useful overview which allows detailed planning of the implementation process.
Training - Introduction to ISO 14001
standard This training is addressed to the top management. It includes description of ISO 14001 requirements and the process of system implementation with emphasis on high level of top management involvement and commitment required by ISO 14001 standard.
Assisting implementation of the system
Close work of top management, implementation team and consultants of EcoMS in the process of environmental management system implementation will enable creation of effective system, which will allow better functioning of the organisation and trouble free achievement of the certification by any certifying company.
Training workshops for implementation team
These workshops will give the employees in the implementation team understanding and practical approach to requirements of ISO14001 and ISO 14004. Within the workshops there are elements of general environmental issues and basic knowledge of environmental legislation. Training workshops are tailor-made on basis of initial audit and gap analysis to prepare implementation team for the effective implementation process.
Consultancy
Consultancy advice aims to provide practical assistance during creation of EMS documentation and supervision during implementation process. The consultancy is focused on problems solving and providing company’s orientated solutions, which enable effective environmental management systems implementation. This training raises environmental awareness at all levels of the organisation. It includes basic environmental issues at global and local scale. Training is tailor made to specific organisation’s needs.
Internal auditing training
This training covers planning, preparing and conducting internal audits together with supervision of corrective actions and preventing measures. The aim of this training is to prepare a group of employees for systematic verification of environmental management system implementation and maintenance according to established procedures.
Internal Audits
Planning of first set of audits which will be conducted by the consultants of EcoMS together with organisation’s internal auditors. It will give practical knowledge of auditing techniques and enable adequate planning of corrective actions and preventive measures.
Pre-certification Audit
The aim of this audit is to check the environmental management system before the main certification audit with paying the most attention to key elements of the system and the EMS documentation. The aim of this audit is to give advise and suggest corrective action if needed. Such an audit is a very good practice for employees before main certification it gives an idea how the main certification will look like.
